Abstract

The purpose of the research is, in Patikabari High School, Exploring the effects of parental involvement on academic achievement of students. Demographic variability of parents whether it affects on their involvement in their children's education, Determine that. In addition, the relation between relationship of parental involvement and academic achievement of students, try to test, what was found in the existing literature review. This is the reaction of 12 parents, whose children are enrolled at secondary level. Sample was taken for present research. Intensity technique was used in this research. A questionnaire was distributed regarding the demographics of the parents. Parents were interviewed to assess the level of involvement. Student results were used to find out the achievement level of students. Qualitative method was used to measure the effects of parental involvement on academic achievement of students. The results revealed that Parental income level does not affect on the level of involvement in their children's education. However, the level of parental education, age, job, their marital status has more influence on parental involvement. The main findings of this study indicate that the academic performance of students of educated parents was not equal with performance of students of non educated parents.
